Si Liezel Garcia ulit ang Star Scholar of the week ng Pinoy Dream Academy season 2. Two time in a row, kasi last week siya rin ang itinanghal na star scholar. Kinanta nya kagabi ang "Count On Me" by Whitney Houston.

Manny Pacquiao wins WBC title
LAS VEGAS (Reuters) - Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines knocked down Juan Manuel Marquez in the third round before going on to capture the WBC super featherweight championship by split decision on Saturday. The scores were 115-112 and 114-113 for Pacquiao, and 115-112 for Mexican Marquez. The fight was a rematch of their 2004 encounter that ended in a draw.
Marquez began brightly, landing sharp counters as his opponent came forward, but a perfect counter left hand from Pacquiao dropped the Mexican fighter onto his back in the third round.
A clash of heads in the seventh opened a cut above the right eye of Marquez, but in the next round he drew blood from Pacquiao.
Pacquiao's power was always evident and a strong counter left in the 10th round rocked Marquez again.

AOL acquires Bebo social network
Time Warner's AOL internet division is buying the social networking site Bebo for $850m (£417m) in cash.Bebo is the third-biggest social networking site in the US, behind MySpace and Facebook.
AOL says that Bebo has more than 40 million members worldwide who view an average of 78 pages per day each.
The price-tag is tiny when compared with the valuations of similar websites. Microsoft bought 1.6% of Facebook last year for $240m.

News Corp bought MySpace for $580m in 2005 but now estimates that it is worth more than $15bn.

Social networking sites are seen as a valuable location for online advertising, because members post information about themselves and can then be targeted with products and services likely to appeal to them.
The transaction comes at a time when Time Warner is considering splitting its business to part company with its AOL unit.
Bebo was the world's ninth most popular social networking site in January, according to the internet statistics provider ComScore, which also ranked it as the second most visited in the UK.
It was founded in California by Michael Birch, a British entrepreneur, who still owns a big stake in the business and so will make a great deal from the sale.

While Facebook made all the media noise last year, Bebo was in some ways more innovative

Alex Burmaster, European Internet Analyst for Nielsen Online, said: "It comes as no great surprise to see another traditional publisher buying in to the power of the social networking phenomenon.
"Microsoft did it with Facebook, News Corp did it with MySpace so Bebo was the next logical target."
He added: "Bebo has an incredibly strong brand identity, particularly with the teenage and young adult market, so it will be very interesting to see how AOL makes best use of their new youthful Trojan horse."
Manhunt 2

The ban on controversial video game Manhunt 2 in the UK has been lifted and the game will now go on sale.
The Video Appeals Committee upheld an earlier decision that the game could be sold, following a nine-month battle between makers Rockstar and UK censors.
The British Board of Film Classification had taken the fight to ban the game to the High Court, saying the game "went too far".
An edited version of the title will be released with an 18 certificate.
The game was first banned in June 2007 and an edited version of the game was later rejected by the BBFC.
David Cooke, director of the BBFC said: "As I have said previously, we never take rejection decisions lightly, and they always involve a complex balance of considerations.
"We twice rejected Manhunt 2, and then pursued a judicial review challenge, because we considered, after exceptionally thorough examination, that it posed a real potential harm risk.
"However, the Video Appeals Committee has again exercised its independent scrutiny. It is now clear, in the light of this decision, and our legal advice, that we have no alternative but to issue an 18 certificate to the game."
Developers Rockstar Games has always maintained that the content of Manhunt 2 is no different from other 18-rated entertainment products, such as the film series Saw.
In a statement, the company said: "We are pleased that the VAC has reaffirmed its decision recognizing that Manhunt 2 is well within the bounds established by other 18+ rated entertainment.
"Rockstar Games is committed to making great interactive entertainment, while also marketing our products responsibly and supporting an effective rating system.

KBP's 18-min per hour
ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation on Friday declared its full support for the Kapisanan ng mga Broadkaster ng Pilipinas’ (KBP) call for broadcast networks to strictly abide by the KBP rule limiting the commercial load of programs to a maximum of 18 minutes per hour.Bong Osorio, head of ABS-CBN Corporate Communications, said the Kapamilya network is committed to following KBP’s commercial load limit in order to give better value to our advertisers and viewers.
He pointed out two reasons why adhering to the KBP’s 18-minute per hour advertising rule is important.
“First, the limit safeguards the public from possible abuse by broadcast organizations in shortening programs to accommodate more airtime for commercial loads. Sacrificing program content for profit is doing a disservice to the public,” he said.
“Second, the cap prevents broadcast stations from flooding the market with excessive commercials. Limiting the number of TV and radio spots lessen the advertising clutter; thereby, making the ads more effective,” he added.
According to Osorio, ABS-CBN will comply with the commercial load limit despite the huge demand for ad placement reservations in our programs.
“As a long-standing member of the KBP, we are committed to the principle of self-regulation. We thank the advertisers for their trust and support in our programs and the public for their continued and unwavering patronage,” he said.
The KBP recently issued a statement announcing that it will strictly implement the 18-minute per hour advertising rule among its member TV networks. Its officials said the move will promote public interest by preventing advertising clutter.

Nokia Morph - Future Cell
Nokia Morph concept phone : Morph, a joint nanotechnology concept, developed by Nokia Research Center (NRC) and the University of Cambridge (UK) - was launched alongside the "Design and the Elastic Mind" exhibition, on view from February 24 to May 12, 2008, at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. Nokia Morph concept mobile phone features in both the exhibition catalog and on MoMA's official website. Elements of Nokia Morph might be available to integrate into mobile devices within 7 years, though initially only at the high-end. However, nanotechnology may one day lead to low cost manufacturing solutions, and offers the possibility of integrating complex functionality at a low price.

Nokia Morph future cell phone
Morph is a concept that demonstrates how future mobile devices might be stretchable and flexible, allowing the user to transform their mobile device into radically different shapes. It demonstrates the ultimate functionality that nanotechnology might be capable of delivering: flexible materials, transparent electronics and self-cleaning surfaces. Dr. Bob Iannucci, Chief Technology Officer, Nokia, commented: "Nokia Research Center is looking at ways to reinvent the form and function of mobile devices; the Morph concept shows what might be possible".

University of Cambridge
The partnership between Nokia and the University of Cambridge was announced in March, 2007 - an agreement to work together on an extensive and long term programme of joint research projects. NRC has established a research facility at the University's West Cambridge site and collaborates with several departments - initially the Nanoscience Center and Electrical Division of the Engineering Department - on projects that, to begin with, are centered on nanotechnology.
